McIntosh’s archival limited edition, Diamonds (2019) exemplifies her conversation with bold colour and geometric play that define her work.  Printed full bleed, the five-colour serigraph pushes beyond traditional margins, asserting a painterly presence - an echo of the expansive thinking she fosters in her students. Spanning national and international exhibitions and represented in prominent galleries and collections globally, McIntosh’s career affirms her significant voice and enduring influence as a contemporary Canadian artist.

The works of Russna Kaur, Elizabeth McIntosh and Gathie Falk have been brought together in the 2026 Spring Portfolio to consider the intersections across generations through mentorship, influence, and time.  Each limited edition in this release embodies a distinctive approach to making and examines the lived and inherited relationships that have helped shape it.

McIntosh’s work deepens the portfolio’s exploration of mentorship.  An associate professor in the Faculty of Visual Art + Material Practice at  Emily Carr University of Art + Design, McIntosh was a formative pedological influence to Kaur during her graduate studies. A single suggestion - “Why don’t you just add two more on top?” - shifted Kaur’s understanding of scale and multiplicity, helping seed the multi panel, modular approach central to her practice today.

Together, this collection invites us to consider how knowledge is shared across generations through shared practices, conversations, inherited ideas, and the unfolding of time.
